A card featuring Meg’s Garden Spring Pastels Collection
My name is Barbara and this is my first submission for the Meg’s Garden Design Team. I hope you like my card.
‘Spring Pastels’ is the latest paper collection from Meg’s Garden, the laces and accessories all add to the lovely pastelly mix. I have done quite a lot of fussy cutting for this card which is a 5 3/4″ square, but I really like the way it has turned out.
I sewed several times around the perimeter of the top layer in white thread, after sponging all the edges in a soft grey. I tore a piece of co-ordinating paper and adhered it to the right hand side of the top layer after again sponging the edges. I fussy cut the feather and flower sprig and attached a metal embellishment to the front. The words, imagine and inspire, were also fussy cut and sponged. I popped them up on foam squares before adhering them to the card.
Lastly, you may notice the tiny daisy like flowers which I have added all around the front of the card, these were trimmed from the pretty ‘Flower Edge’ Organza ribbon in white, and adhered to add some texture to the base. A pretty cream and blue flower finishes the front of the card.
I added a piece of cardstock with sponged edges to the inside and adhered another piece of the torn paper along the right hand side which I also sponged in grey, a few more of the little ribbon daisies were added to finish. This would make a lovely birthday card and would fit many other occasions too
I have lots more ideas to share with you. Meg’s Garden designer collections are so pretty and vintage that inspiration is flowing fast. Together with some lovely embellishments and the filigree elements, I can see I will be spending a lot of time in the craftroom. My next card which is already in the pipeline is going to be a Christmas card made with the same paper collection.
